Born in Spoleto, Italy, in 1965, Cristina MMR Bonucci has pursued an artistic practice since 1994 encompassing sculpture, painting, drawing, performance and digital media.
Her work includes monumental sculptures for public spaces, sculptural ensembles for interiors, small-scale sculptures and explorations of imprints of the human body.

Key milestones in her artistic career

1998 | Festival dei Due Mondi, Spoleto
Participates in the international exhibition Se son rose fioriranno, curated by Julian Zugazagoitia, with the performance Omaggio a Yves Klein.

2000–2006 | Monumental sculptures
Creates two permanent works for public spaces: Componente del 2, installed at the Giro della Rocca in Spoleto in 2000, and Raccolta davanti a Te, installed in Torgiano in 2006.

2009 | International exhibition
Her solo exhibition Icone, disegni e sculture, organised by the Cities of Spoleto and Schwetzingen, is presented at the Cathedral of St Pancras in Germany.

2013–2018 | Lo studiolo dell'artista: luogo d'incontro
Completes the sculptural ensemble Lo studiolo dell'artista: luogo d'incontro, subsequently featured in exhibitions and gatherings exploring dialogue between Art, Music, Spirituality and Literature. In 2018, the work is installed in the Basilica of San Domenico in Perugia.

2014–2016 | Performance and video art
Creates Trilogia, a work comprising three performances, later presented as an artist's video at the Umbria Film Festival. In 2015, she participates in the Festival dei Due Mondi with I volti della Bellezza.

2016–2017 | Museo Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive
Her solo exhibition A Kengo Kuma, curated by Gianluca Marziani, is presented at Museo Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive in Spoleto. In 2017, the museum acquires the small-scale sculpture A Kengo Kuma 3 for its permanent collection.

2019 | Twenty-five years of artistic research
Publishes the retrospective catalogue BONUCCI, covering her artistic career from 1994 to 2019, with critical and philosophical contributions by Davide Silvioli, Diego Fusaro, Julian Zugazagoitia, Sanjay Tikku, Giorgio Bonomi, Gianluca Marziani and Cecilia Metelli.

2022–2023 | New explorations
Publishes the catalogue for the digital artwork Il Mio Castello Interiore, curated by Gianluca Marziani. In 2023, she exhibits the sculptural ensemble Le Colonne at the Museo del Polo Culturale di Trevi.

2024 | Costumi d'Impronta
Presents the solo exhibition Costumi d'Impronta, curated by Saverio Verini, at the Museo del Tessuto e del Costume - MUTECO in Spoleto. The project translates her artistic exploration of human-body imprints, developed in 1998–1999, into the language of clothing and Image Styling.
