CRISTINA BONUCCI - STILISTA DELL'IMMAGINE®
STYLE THROUGH REPETITION
Style through Repetition intentionally echoes the formal characteristics of the body. The lines, volumes and proportions of clothing enter into dialogue with those of the Person, creating visual continuity and highlighting what makes them distinctive. The aim is not to correct a shape, but to interpret it through design. Repetition may be subtle or pronounced, depending on the Effect we wish to create.
How it can take shape
This approach can be applied to ready-to-wear garments, bespoke creations, projects connected with Art and designs for special occasions, including Bridal Styling. The occasion does not determine the Style: the Image design guides the choices.
Illustrative example
For example, a figure with shoulders broader than the hips may choose lines that echo and emphasise that relationship of proportions rather than counterbalance it.
